At the 2017 CareerXroads Colloquium meeting titled, "Candidate as a Customer," an attendee noted, "One candidate that had a bad interview experience came back with the feedback that if they were ever in a position to hire our services, they would ensure that we didn't get the business."

From the vantage point of this anecdotal but troubling sentiment, there's no doubt that "candidate experience" in today’s connected world translates to attitudes, intentions, and behavior that can directly affect the performance of any employer - far more than the number of applicants that apply for a job.

At the two-day members-only, GE-hosted meeting in Chicago, attendees challenged themselves to tackle a series of member-generated questions such as:

  1. What practices have the most impact on candidate experience?
  2. What are the critical touch-points for influencing a positive candidate experience?
  3. Which priorities are most important for ‘me’ to influence candidate experience?
