Discussion Topics

One of two Colloquium sessons held each year for a specific recruiting function, our July meeting is all about College Recruiting. Detailed discussion points as voted on by members are:

• Social Media & Mobile Communication: Too Much? Too Little? Just right? Can you measure a result? All attendees to bring their recruiting Social Media/Mobile Communication programs.
• Internships/Co-ops: What % of all college hires have previously been interns? (Bring your metrics.) How does this number align with your business?
• College Recruiting Metrics: Do you have any that really show and tell?
• Myth or Reality: Attracting the Best and the Brightest. Do you predict performance? How has this worked for you?
• Campus Recruitment Brand: Different than experienced? Transparent? Do you measure it's success? Do you compare other paid measures. How important are perceptions to your leadership?
• College Panel: At Dinner Tuesday Night we will have a panel of current college students. What would you want a student graduating at the top of his/her class to comment on?

As is our practice at CareerXroads Colloquium events we also ask all attendees to bring “what keeps them up at night” in their recruiting organizations so we can help each other solve those issues. After all, it's the caliber of our group that makes each session unique and provides that Aha! moment you'll take back to your office.

Dress for Colloquium sessions is business casual.

All meetings to be held at Target headquarters in downtown Minneapolis: 1000 Nicollet.

July 19 Monday 

• 6:00 PM Meet in the hotel lobby to walk to a casual dinner at Hell's Kitchen. This is a great opportunity to catch up with fellow members before the meeting starts. Even if you arrive later in the day, please come meet us at the restaurant.

July 20 Tuesday

• 7:45AM Meet in hotel lobby to walk to our meeting at Target. We'll meet our Target hosts at 11th & Nicollet at the fountain - look for their red polos! They will give us each a badge to be worn throughout the event for building access.
• 8:30-4:30 Meeting Session. Breakfast & light lunch will be served.
• 6:00PM For those staying at the Hilton Garden Inn, meet in the lobby at 5:45 to walk to The Marquette hotel and Windows on Minnesota. For those staying at The Marquette, take the elevator to the 50th floor for dinner at Windows on Minnesota - located in the same tower as our hotel.
  Before dinner we'll have a panel discussion with recent college graduates to learn about their experiences as candidates. They are coming prepared to share - make sure you come prepared with questions!
• Don't wear yourselves out at dinner because we've also got reservations at nearby piano bar, The Shout House!

July 21 Wednesday 

• 7:45AM Meet in hotel lobby to walk to our meeting at Target.
• 8:30-2:30 PM Meeting session, continental breakfast will be served. Some of our most thought-provoking, insightful discussions happen towards the end of the meeting session. In an effort to have full participation it is important that everyone stay until the meeting adjourns. Thank you.
