Discussion Topics
Our lead topic for this Colloquium will be Tools, Training & Targets of Opportunity. Sourcing leaders know that long-term relationships are inconsistent with requisition-driven requirements. How do they balance the short and long term needs of the organization, get respect from their partners and measure their results? How are the roles and responsibilities of sourcing professionals changing? Should they all be contractors? can they be trained? Should the be constrained or simply let loose? This may be the meeting with the strongest differences in vision - come prepared to discuss. Additional topics as voted on by members:
- Assembly Line Teams vs The Individual: Is the full life-cycle recruiter being replaced by specialty roles and hand-offs? Pro and cons of custom fit-sourcing versus full service models. Can hybrid models work based on level, specialty etc?
- If You Don't Train and Audit - How Do You Know They Can Do It?: Where are the biggest gaps in recruiter training? The Basics? Consultative? Sourcing Skills? Diversity? Job Design? What is current and where is it going to be next year? Be prepared to share your specific training preferences.
- CRM Tools - It's All About the Touchpoints: Teams work on a scenario to identify critical touchpoints for hot prospects to keep warm for one year. What is tracked? Why?
- Cool Tools and What's Missing: What new tactical and/or strategic tools and campaigns are you experimenting with? Prepare to share a practice you aren't yet sure will be "best" or not.
- Recruiting Tools: Exactly how and when are social networks being used in your recruitment process?
As is our practice at CareerXroads Colloquium events we ask all attendees to bring “what keeps them up at night” in their recruiting organizations so we can help each other solve those issues. After all, it's the caliber of our group that makes each session unique and provides that Aha! moment you'll take back to your office.

All meetings will be held at the Rolls Royce Training Center at 2355 South Tibbs. Dress for Colloquium sessions is business casual.
September 22 – Monday
- 6:00 PM Meet in the lobby for a short walk to dinner at Alcatraz Brewing Company. Don't miss this opportunity to renew acquaintances and make new ones before the Colloquium starts! The restaurant is just around the corner from our hotel so even if you get in later, please join us!
September 23 – Tuesday
- 7:45 AM Meet in hotel lobby for a transportation to our meeting facility
- 8:00 AM Breakfast and Introductions.
- 8:30-4:30 Meeting Session.
- 6:00 PM Meet in lobby for a short walk to dinner at 14 West.
September 24 - Wednesday
- 7:45 AM Meet in hotel lobby for a transportation to our meeting facility
- 8:00-2:30 PM Meeting session, continental breakfast will be served. Some of our most thought-provoking, insightful discussions happen towards the end of the meeting session. In an effort to have full participation it is important that everyone stay until the meeting adjourns. Thank you.

Hotel Reservations
Omni Severin Hotel at 40 W. Jackson Place
Call 1-800-The-Omni (843-6664) and ask for the Rolls-CareerXroads group for reservations. Our room rate of $125 per night will be held until September 1.
Airport Transportation:
There is a Green Line Shuttle available from the airport to the hotel, cost is approx $7 each way. Cabs are available for approx $19.
