The Game Is On

Each company at the Colloquium needs to imagine that the job description (below) has just been approved. What do your internal/external resources recommend for where it should be posted for maximum exposure/results? Money is no object. If you use an outside vendor, revise the description to put it in your recruiting language. Samples are to be emailed to CareerXroads prior to the Colloquium for judging in relation to the theme of this meeting. Prizes will be awarded. This is your admission ticket so do not leave home without it.

IT Business Systems Analyst

Description Liaison between the business unit, application development organization and external partners for all project requirements during the analysis phase of a project. Conducting interviews with all project stakeholders to determine functional requirements. Interview business users to review, analyze, and evaluate business systems and user needs. Formulate systems to parallel overall business strategies. Write detailed description of user needs and application functions. Participate in applicable phases of project management involving changes to existing and/or new applications. Communicate the status of each phase for assigned projects to IT management, project management office, and affected business unit(s) on a scheduled basis. Assist with beta testing, validation by business unit, and implementation of revised and new applications.

Qualifications Minimum 2 years experience in business modeling, requirements management, analysis and design. Demonstrated ability to build use cases and models that clearly depict process flows relating to specific requirements. Background in systems analysis and technical skills/knowledge (data analysis, test driven design, technical emphasis in J2EE environment with object oriented concepts/object modeling and/or ERP environment with structured programming and design concepts). Experience with Agile Methodology and Lean Software Development. Interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills necessary to establish and maintain effective working relationships with team members, other business areas, and vendors. Basic knowledge of IT Change Management and Project Management. Verbal and written communication skills. Planning and organizational skills necessary to plan, prioritize, and coordinate own tasks.
